Here you’ll find the practical information that helps make your stay at Easy Day simple and relaxed — from getting here and parking in Sadernes to facilities, what to bring, and how life at the house and campsite works.
Easy Day is located at Pont de Valentí, in the heart of the Sant Aniol Valley, within a protected natural area. Because of this, arriving here is a little different from arriving at an ordinary rural house or retreat venue, and a little preparation in advance makes all the difference.
Easy Day is located at Pont de Valentí in the Sant Aniol Valley, in the Alta Garrotxa Natural Park.
You can usually arrive:
For some stays and programmes, the final part of the arrival is on foot.
In these cases:
Exact arrival details are always shared in advance for each stay or programme.
As Easy Day is located within a protected natural area, access by car is limited.
For most visits:
At busy times, there are sometimes access controls before Sadernes, occasionally already in Montagut. If you are staying with Easy Day, it is usually enough to say that you have a booking or are expected here.
Where vehicle access permits are available:
For stays in the apartment, access by car is usually possible and a parking permit is often provided separately. If this is not the case, guests should park in Sadernes and make the usual online reservation.
If your group is arriving with several cars, we may ask you to:
For many stays and programmes, the final part of the arrival is on foot.
From Sadernes, the walk into the valley to Pont de Valentí is around 3 km and usually takes about 30 minutes, depending on pace and luggage.
For arrivals that involve walking in:
Where needed, we can often organise luggage transfer, so that guests only need to carry what they need for the walk.
Guests who have limited mobility, are injured, or may find the walk difficult are welcome to let us know in advance. In many cases, we can also help with a transfer when luggage is being brought in.
For some programmes, the walk into the valley is already part of the arrival experience and the beginning of the time together. Once at the house, groups are often welcomed with a short orientation tour and some refreshments before settling in.
Food is an important part of life at Easy Day.
For retreats and organised programmes:
food is prepared with care
and is based, whenever possible, on fresh, local, organic and mainly vegetarian ingredients
For private stays and smaller gatherings:
guests may have access to their own kitchen, a shared kitchen, or simple outdoor cooking areas
Where shared kitchen areas are available:
No meat on the land
As a nature-based learning and retreat centre, Easy Day encourages a way of being here that is rooted in care, attention and respect for life. In that spirit, we ask guests not to bring, cook or consume meat on the land. Fish is welcome.
There is generally no mobile phone coverage in the valley. This is one of the quiet gifts of being here. People are less drawn into devices, and more able to settle into the place, into themselves, and into direct experience.
Easy Day does have satellite internet, but bandwidth is limited and is needed for the work of the house. For this reason, it is not offered as regular guest wifi in the usual way.
Over time, we have chosen to protect the offline culture here, because so many people have told us how valuable this has been for them. Even young participants who at first found it challenging have often later said that it felt exactly right.
If you are planning to come here in order to work online from the valley — especially from glamping or camping — please speak with us about this in advance rather than assuming internet access will be available.
Where needed, participants can be in touch with family through the organiser, and family members can also reach participants in the case of an emergency via the organiser or via Easy Day.
We encourage guests to communicate clearly with family, loved ones and work before arriving, so that they can settle here more fully and feel at ease being offline for a while.
Facilities vary slightly depending on where you are staying.
For guests staying in the main house or apartment, there are normal showers and flushing toilets.
In the camping and glamping areas, facilities are more outdoor-based and close to nature. These areas have bucket showers with hot water, dry toilets, and drinking water.
In the warmer months, many guests also enjoy the river for a refreshing wash or swim.
There is generally no electricity or lighting in the campsite and glamping area, so guests should bring a head torch. Guests who need to charge phones or other small devices can usually do so at the house.
Please drink water only from the designated drinking water tap or point provided.
Easy Day is not a hotel, but a lived and shared place. Guests and groups quickly become part of the rhythm of the house.
We ask everyone who stays here to help care for the place by:
This shared participation creates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that many people value.
Some agreements may vary slightly depending on the group, the season or the type of stay, and where needed they can always be spoken about and adjusted together.
Easy Day is set in a natural environment. We ask all guests to move through the place with care and to keep the following points clearly in mind:
What to bring depends partly on the season and on the type of stay, but in general we recommend:
For camping or glamping stays, guests may also need:
More specific packing guidance is always shared in advance where needed.
If you have practical questions before your arrival, please feel free to get in touch. We are happy to help clarify what to bring, how to arrive, parking arrangements, or how things work once you are here.
